The Lamppost, It Keeps Me Warm

Here’s a song I wrote a while ago! Click on this link to watch me singing it :The Lamppost, It Keeps Me Warm (Video/Audio)

Would you stand under the Lamppost?

I know it’s cold but it’s only been a while

I’m afraid of the inside I rather

Spend my time under this dim light
Don’t glow if you’re not going to go

Because this flickering is frightening

The orange formed sun bathed light, it’s

Brushing down my memory’s skin
Down to the place where I no longer remember much of anything

Except

For the fragile fragment of the not so lonely days
The Lamppost, it keeps me warm

I wouldn’t leave if it were to storm

It keeps me warm
I’ll walk home at the end of the day

My fragile fragments eroding away

Okay, you glow so that I can’t at least

See you through my small window
Just don’t blow away with the storm

Don’t blow away you’ve got to stay strong

I’ll stand by you, Lamppost

Just don’t slide away from my memory’s skin
Promise me you won’t even try to begin
The Lamppost, it keeps me warm

I wouldn’t leave if it were to storm

It keeps me warm

Your Crayon Set

She’s been standing for days
Staring through the air
Hasn’t moved an inch
Except for the time she sneezed
That too, extremely softly
Softer than the softness of
The process of drifting off to soft sleep

Her eyes filled with pain
That’s not only physical but also
An emotional strain caused by
The dreadful things that she saw
And the dreading things she’s afraid
She’ll see again that’ll redden
More her red eyes that are redder than the darkest red in your crayon set

Her lips have barely parted since
what seems to be a
Time and moment of her life that never existed
It’ll all be all right everyone insisted
Bringing her short lasting hope
That’s now crushed under an everlasting burden that she carries
A burden that further burdens itself by burdening into a labyrinth

A labyrinth that you’ve indirectly painted with your crayon set.
